A Swiss bank with strategic competitive expertise in the Americas; specifically in new issuance underwriting. I supported the Capital Markets team in operations and strategy and the SPAC team as an Analyst
TEAM AND CULTURE
At Credit Suisse, I contributed to a collaborative and high-performing team culture. By supporting complex financial projects and ensuring compliance, I fostered trust and reliability within the team, encouraging a positive and cooperative work environment that facilitated efficient workflows and increased team morale.
ADAPTABILITY AND PROBLEM SOLVING
Working at Credit Suisse often required quick response to market shifts, regulatory changes, and urgent deadlines. I developed strong data-driven skills by managing SPAC analysis, developing presentations, navigating shifting compliance requirements, and handling the demands of financial operations.
INITIATIVE AND PROACTIVITY
I optimized data management processes, streamlined the handling of SPAC databases, and enhanced reporting accuracy. An example is through linking spreadsheets to initial presentations which cut down initial development time by over an hour daily. It also allowed Senior team members to easily access live data and add their own commentary.
LEARNING AND GROWTH
I treated this role as an opportunity to deepen my knowledge in finance and regulatory compliance, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices. This growth mindset enhanced my expertise but also added value to the team by keeping them informed of relevant changes that could impact strategies and operations.
CROSS FUNCTIONALITY
At Credit Suisse, I often collaborated with departments such as equity/debt capital markets, compliance, operations, and managing directors to ensure cohesive strategies and reporting. My role required communication and coordination, and my collaborative skills helped facilitate the smooth flow of information and alignment on key projects.
STRATEGIC SCALABLE THINKING
In a fast-paced financial environment, I developed strategic thinking skills, understanding how individual projects were tied into larger firm objectives. By managing SPAC analysis and supporting senior executives with precise data, I contributed to broader financial strategies that aligned with business goals.
CUSTOMER / USER IMPACT
My work directly benefited stakeholders by providing clear, accurate financial insights that supported informed decision-making. This was especially relevant in my SPAC analysis work, where your reporting and database management played a key role in assisting executives and clients with strategic planning through market awareness.
VALUES AND MISSION
Credit Suisse's commitment to innovation and regulatory compliance resonated with my own values. MY role reflected a dedication to high standards of accuracy, integrity, and efficiency, embodying the firm’s mission to deliver trustworthy financial services in a rapidly evolving market.
DEPARTURE
Despite enjoying the work and team, I left Credit Suisse to join a startup, seeking hands-on experience across multiple verticals. My experience at Credit Suisse, specifically in the SPAC group I was drawn to valuation, value creation, and what companies did to show future growth. I pivoted to a start-up where I could get closer to direct value add.
